Evaluation - Question 1

Q1: In What Ways Does Your Media Product Use, Develop or Challenge Forms and Conventions of Real Media Products?

As well as having conventions of film opening, title sequences are another media form that is needed. title sequence acts different towards how film opening acts. title sequence is a time line of production that is needed and ensures the audience who produced and directed the film. some films in mainstream have different ways of portraying their sequence.

Here is a BeeClip My Title Sequence

For our film we have changed it a little bit were we put the main actor in front of the film name instead of adding it in after with the rest of the actors - makes the audience aware that the film is mostly about the character as they are separately shown on their own - shows importance.

Ideally, the title starts like this:
      • Production (20th Century Fox)
      • Film Name
      • Actors
      • Music
      • Casting
      • Costume
      • Editor
      • Designer
      • Photography
      • Executive
      • Produced
      • Directed

      Evaluation Question 4

      Monday 19 March 2012

      EVALUATION: Question 7

"Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?"

      PLANNING:
In regards to planning I did much more than I did for my preliminary. I created a much more planned and detailed storyboard for my final thriller and thoroughly thought about my location and mise-en-scene. This was contrasted to my prelim where planning was almost non-existant. For my final thriller opening we had to propose a pitch which involved detailed planning.

      CAMERA:
      My role in Thriller final.
I have made a significant improvement with my camera skills in regards to framing and angleing the shots. I was able to stick to the 180 degree rule with regard to angle precision. I have been able to establish a clear difference from when I did my preliminary to when I did my final thriller. In respect to lighting we used both times, the lighting that was available at that time; both films (Prelim and Final Thriller) This allowed me to produce a sophisticated film opening.

      EDITING:
      My role in Thriller final.
I think after watching the contrast between my preliminary and final thriller I can see a clear difference and the final thriller looks much more prestige. I took much more pride in making my thriller and I can see a difference with the style of footage I took as I had a better understanding of how a thriller film should be. i thought about the use of video filters, transitions and special effects to boost the sophistication of my film. I also thought about the speed of each clip and modified that if I wanted to speed it up or slow the clip down. I took careful consideration into how my title sequence should look, the order, and how the title should appear within the opening. I also thought about how the shots should flow with continuity, how many different shot types I created - including match cuts and cross cutting.

In conclusion, I believe I have encountered a huge learning curve during this experience making my thriller opening. I started without any experience on Final Cut or using the JVC camera and ended making 'The Diary of Sarah-Louise' - using sophisticated professional editing skills.

      EVALUATION: Question 6

"What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?"

This here is the first part of my evaluation into which technologies I have learnt about during the process of making my thriller opening. This section talks about the different technologies I used to gain research, produce my film opening and convert it to let my film be on different sites.

This next part of my evaluation for question 6 is a two part video about my use on Final Cut Pro. I give a detailed explanation of the way I used Final Cut and why I chose to incorporate different ideas when I did.

A wordle of all the technologies I have successfully gained knowledge from and successfully used in my process.

      EVALUATION: Question 5

"How did you attract/address your audience?"

Here are some video's from people that have seen my video and fall into the category for my intended audience. They give thorough analysis and good comments on the video.
