This film is a very interesting film. It has english subtitles because the film is a South African film which speaks many different languages. The costume shown are very rugged and not formal. They are dirty and old clothes that are worn out (colour going off and black marks). There surroundings are poor and trampy because people are going through poverty.

There are many extreme distant shots to show the surroundings of where 'tsotsi' lives. It emphasises the bad neighbourhood he is living in. Also we will see a lot of 'over the shoulder shots' to create a sense of conversation, also it shows us 'tsotsis' way of living (Life style).
When it comes to Editing, we see alot of fast cuts to create tension. The film has mostly bad things going on and tries to make the audience feel 'tsotsi' is the bad/evil person, but also we feel sympathy for him because we realise he is forced into the lifestyle he portrays.
