Feedback From Dan on Our Final Rough Cut

This video shows Dan (Teacher) giving us feedback on our Final Rough Cut indicating what works and what this helped us as it gives us more to work on and how to produce a stronger opening in order to get a better grade.

Good:
  • Slow Motion is added in the beginning shots of our opening which is effective as it gives a suspense feeling as everything is slowed down and gives the audience a felling something may happen.
  • Towards the end of the opening, the girl sits on her bed when a voice over is added and the sense of obsession is effective however the clip is too long but is a good effect to the end of the opening that indicates to the audience what the movie is about and how the character has a crazy persona to her.

Bad:
  • The opening shot is said to be too long and usage of slighter closer shots works better with the shot. This is preferably for the girl as she enters the park and gradually comes up. Mid shot is more effective as she is seen better and speeds up the shot.
  • Dan mentioned that one of the clips looked handheld which may effect the opening as it looks wobbly and will should be smoother and sharper.
Suggestion:
  • To match slow motion with normal, footage as it looks more better.
