Feedback From Dan on Our Final Rough Cut (Part 2)

In this video, Dan (Teacher) talks about the second half of our Opening. The feedback Dan gave us was helpful as we made changes to the video afterwards to get and shaper and more effective second half.
Good:
  • Throughout our clip we have slow motions for effect, this transition is effective as a close up is used also however was told to match them up to make the clip sharper.
  • There are clips of the diary where zoom is added to make it more drastic. What works well with this effect is that it gives a story of the diary and gives the audience a idea of whats going on in the clip as it gives them a sense of obsession from the woman as the zoom shots and information indicates this.
  • Towards the end of the opening, there is a cut which is really good as it cuts the diary footage and into a still shot of a girl that gives a scary effect to the end as the audience feel theres something wrong with her.

Bad:
  • One bad point on this clip was that a character was shot too many times, a decrease on the number of clips used on this character will be more better as it will develop the clip more instead of cutting back to the character again.
Suggestion:
  • The second half of the opening should not start at full view of the zoom out. If it starts before it will set pace and movement more, by changing this in our opening it will be smoother and tell a story more.
