Research (Health and Safety)

In this lesson we were taught how to use specific equipment that was needed in order to do our pratical work which is to make an opening sequence for a thriller film.

 Tripod.
A tripod is needed for filiming as it positions the camera properly while filiming and also keep it in place, there is also a lock on the tripod to prevent the camera from sliding off. As you can see from the photo there are three legs coming off the tripod (hence Tri, which means three) you can also expand or reduce to the height you want it depending on the level of filiming to produce a good frame or clip. these things were taught to us and is useful as now we have a clear idea into how to postion the camera and also adjust it and also how it works. There is also a handle that comes of this equipment which makes a great deal into recording a scene as the handle is there for us to move about in order to have a clean shot.

CameraThe Camera is the main equipment used as we need a camera to produce our film sequence. One thing that was mentioned to us was that there are two different type of focus lense. The first is AF (Auto Focus), auto focus is useful however, it doesnt entirely give you the sharpest photograph. The other focus lense is MF (Manual Focus), although its longer to use it is more benficial, manual focus is used by adjusting the focus by hand and by this you are able to have a better and clearer image.
Other factors the camera has is that you are able to zoom in and out, with this it brings the image closer or further away, for example, if you wanted to have a close up of an oject, by using the zoom botton you are able to do so.

Memory Card
Memory card is also useful as this stores/saves all your recording into memory which is then put into a computer asn is able to then use the clips and make a sequence with them.
Two importnat things to know about the memory card; one is that it stores up to 2hours recording time, this is essential as it gives an awareness onto users to know not to go over that time.
two, as you can see on the photo, there is a lock on the memory card, as users we need to know wether the lock is on or not, if it is locked and we was to filim, it will not register the clips flimed and therefore have to film again and may cause to lose work produced.
